Water pump took a poo...
ya, i paid 50 or so bucks for a dodge water pump a year or so ago, but either way, the dealer is charging too much, but if you even get a few jugs of coolant, then your still ahead, no mess to clean up, and these trucks hold lots of colant. keep in mind they will only lose a bit, i just drained mine down past the pump through the rad and i think i lost maybe 2 jugs, but i went ahead and did a complete flush and fill when i was there anyway.
just did a waterpump on a 07 5.7 liter hemi in a ram last night for a buddy. it was pretty easy too, but a pain. not as easy as these diesels though, i think that took me 10 min to change the pump.about an hr to do the complete job with flush and fill.

granted this was on my '90 in my sig, but i paid $50 for a new one at autozone just a month ago. i tend to favor genuine cummins parts, but as often as a water pump can go out and as easily replaceable as they are, i don't mind a $50 duralast water pump. just my 2 cents. then again, $100 for the dealer to do it, that's almost rare. take advantage of it then. you'll have some sort of "warranty" if the new one goes out or something else goes wrong that could've been the cause of the water pump install.

My mind is in the gutter this morning!

Last I checked a couple years ago a new pump from Cummins was over a $100.If this is the case now and the dealer is using a genuine Cummins pump its a good deal for you, save some money and the labor on your end
Sorry to hear Mad, it sucks I had to have mine replced this month, luckly mine was done under warrenty. Not done with 3-36 yet end of next month will be the end of the 3-36. The dealer was cool gave me a rental and paid for it while they had the truck for two days fixin it.
Thank goodness for this thread. I started to rip everything apart (coolant pouring from the weep hole) and came on here for advice on how to replace it. After reading this thread, I called the local dealership and they told me to bring it in tomorrow morning. They said it is covered under warranty and I won't have to pay anything!!!
