Valve adjustment

Going to adjust my valves real soon, the engine is a 24 valve. Since it is 24 valves 4 valves per cyclinder is there 4 rockers to adjust. Haven't ever adjusted these before. Probably a dumb question but I need to know what I am looking at. Thanks

There is only two rockers per cylinder. There is a bridge that the rocker pushes on to actuate both intake valves and a another to actuate the exhaust valves.

on your valve cover it states 0.010 and 0.026 for valve lash cummins wants it 0.010 and 0.020. it is a complex explain why chrysler wants 0.026. just adjust to 0.020 like cummins wants.

If you don't have a barring tool, I recommend it. I've done it recently, and it's an easy day. You should have an inch pound torque wrench at a minimum.

If you have questions, PM me.

Carl48, Thanks for the input from all. I have almost completed the job, had to leave on a "Call Out" for a lost person in the mountains, good out come. Anyway I set the exhaust at .026 got your reply a little too late. Just got #6 to go. Think I should go and reset the exhaust to .020? I did find several loose valves more were exhaust than intake. Tomorrow I'll finish up too late tonight. I only had to remove the valve cover I guess early models had two covers as I saw on a different web site.

Madhat, I used the bolts that hold on the pully, there are 4, 15mm bolts that work good for turning the engine over just go slow and I let the compression release. I do have a torque wrench that is in inch increments but did a little math to figure out the lbs.

Carl, I think I will reset all my valves at the specs you stated, even the ones I didn't adjust. Would this be ok? When done all intakes will be .010 and exhaust will be .020.
Any input from other owners would be appreciated.

Thanks

That's what I set mine to, it sounded like a brand new motor.
