vacuum pump/air pump? what is it?

vacuum pump/air pump? what is it?

There is a litte pump on the passenger side of the truck behind the battery and next to the coolant over flow. it has 2 rubber hoses coming off of it and one electrical connector. what is this thing, mine runs constantly and is about to get on my nerves!

It might be the vacuum pump for the cruise control on the auto tranny versions. Not on 6-speeds. But, I don't think it runs all the time, not sure though. I don't recall hearing it all the time.

when the key is on it always runs, its anoying.
