update on 5.9 carboned up/inj. sticking

Well after 2 dealerships my truck is finally fixed. I posted a couple of weeks ago on here about how my 2007 w/ 5.9 cummins was cutting out and surging with 22K miles on the clock. Dealer #1 said it was my fault for not working the truck hard enough, said the motor was carboned up, charged me $142.00 to flush injectors and sent me on my way. couple of days later problem came back, took to dealer #2, after 30 minutes they said the truck was ready to go. The fuel pressure sensor was bad. They said the fuel pressure was so high it was forcing fuel past the valves in the injectors. truck seems to be fine now. I would go back to dealer #1 and demand a refund, EXCEPT for the fact that my truck is now getting 2 mpg better. I will now use lucas with every fill up.

Thanks,
Scott

Are you saying lucas has something to do with mpg? I am missing the point.

Wouldn't your mpg be increased as a result of correct fuel pressure?

I would still try to get my money back. BS is BS. Of course, I could understand if it is worth $142 to you not to have to deal with theiving lying idiots.

no, my mpg increased immediately after the injector flush. I will use lucas to keep things clean now.

I don't think you need to use Lucas in every tank to keep the injectors clean. I use it and found I can get by only using it every 3rd tank of fuel. That is unless you only drive it in town or don't work the engine hard at all.

Sounds like it didn't throw any codes. Or did it?
