Two weeks so far!
Give me a break! No wonder Chrysler is going under! For those who don't know, my truck's tranny went out at 52K and it has now been two weeks since I dropped it off to them. They diagnosed the problem the same day I took it to them and every day I call them looking to get my truck back because they keep telling me "tomorrow, sir, call back tomorrow, it will surely be done tomorrow", yet it is still sitting there.
Sorry for the rant, but it seems that their service is going to be one of their biggest downfalls. Two weeks without a truck costs folks money!

I've been through this three times before with my tranny at dodge dealerships and it took 5-8 weeks each time before they were done. I finially asked them after 3rd time they replaced it why it took so long and they told me that Dodge gets there re-mans from a third party. So its shipped to 3 or 4 different places before it arrives at the dealership.
I don't know if you were refering to my post, but the reason i've taken mine back is it was under warranty on the first one and they warranty'd the new one for another 75k miles and it went before its time and the same for the third one.
No I was wondering about Mike. I dont believe his is under warranty at that mileage on an 06. I've got 43K on mine, it was reworked by Dodge at 18K, and now I'm putting my own in. I'm much more confident in what I'm putting in now.
I had the same issue with the 1500 i used to have. They kept telling me tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow. Then one day i called and they said the transmission was in but they were waiting on the torque converter to go in. At that statement of stupidity (or rather them thinking I was that stupid), I didn't call them again. I went down there the next morning. I asked the guy when my truck would be ready and he asked me for a phone # so he could call me when it was done. I told him in these exact words, "You won't need to call me, I'll be standing right here until its done." They had the truck finished within half an hour. Come to find out from someone that knew the shop well that the guy they had working on mine was bad about not showing up for work and it had sat on the lift untouched for over a week.
This was for a transmission swap.....no repair, no rebuild, just a regular half day job of pulling one out and putting the new one in.

I'm really glad that I spent the 2K for the extended warranty since the parts and labor that they put into the truck cost them more than that and now I feel confident that I have at least 100K miles out of the truck covered under warranty by Chrysler.
The next tranny that goes in this truck, however, will be as far from stock as I can get. If I want 500K out of this truck at this rate, I will need 9 more stock transmissions

Took 3 1/2 weeks for mine to get done. Of course the "new one" doesn't seem any better. Although it doesn't hunt between 1-2 anymore it does seem to now bog between 2-3? I don't know. Still won't hold any power either. Go to merge onto the toll way, rpm's go right up, but the truck doesn't want to go, plus it just plain shifts weird.
keeping it in tow-haul seems to help a tiny, and I mean tiny bit.
Hauled a 5k trailer the other day, seemed to help the shifting in tow-haul a bit, but was still fairly disappointed in the towing department for only being 5k. I can't wait till I have the money to build it up right.

So check this out. Got the truck back today, finally. 1.) The service man was more intrigued with his buddy's new ride and system than he was to do his job and get met he keys to my truck. 2.) I got home and began to wash the truck because pollen is on a frenzy up here right now and noticed NINE scratches on the passenger side door of my truck!
Guess now I know why the man backed it in to where I was standing and met me with the driver's side door even though it would have been more convenient for him to park the opposite way that he did. Guess he was purposely trying to hide the fact that my truck got scratched up while it was there.
I have absolutely no way of proving that it was done there, but I DID call their service manager and tell him that though I could NOT prove it happened there, I knew that it did because I am very observant in regards to the upkeep of my truck and that I was VERY displeased with the truck being gone as long as it was and that it would NEVER come back to their shop again.
A bit FURIOUS.
A word to the wise: ALWAYS, ALWAYS walk around your vehicle before you leave a service department when you drop your vehicle off for service with the service rep you are working with and when you pick it up in order to ensure that any damage done while in their shop was done in their shop so that somebody will be held liable. I feel like drinking some beer tonight.
