A little play is normal are you seeing any scoring on the housing? A fresh air filter can change tune of the turbo especially if the old one was plugged, what about a boost leak, check the boots.

of course we sell performance turbos but we also sell stock turbo's and stock turbos with upgrade wheels. Lots of options should it turn out to be a failing turbo.
