even with the windows up? difference in sound from the silencer is negligible.

my truck does the same thing.. But more regularily since I tow so much. It gets really bad when my tranny gets hot and starts to "conserve itself" by shifting quicker and harder. I say conserving itself because that is the only thing I can think of why it shifts so darn hard when it is hott!! I asked the dealer and he had no idea but there are other problems with my tranny also. but I will leave it at that. so I do think it is a bad thing but don't know what I can do for it. personally I would be happy if the turbo goes because I could finally get my wastegate to work properly with a new turbo. Mine always squeeles untill it gets up to 35psi when it opens for the first time then it will shut up untill I turn the truck off. then all over again..... bad turbo bad turbo no bark!!!!

Wow! You must be getting old! Thinking that the turbo music is annoying must really be an inconvenience. I hope you never have to ride in my truck!
My father-in-law is getting to the age that anything in the turbo pitch frequency is bothersome to him as well. Pray to God I'll never get there!
