First time diesel owner, 53 block questions?

Hey guys, i came across a real nice find, a 2003 2wd 2500 S.O. super low miles at a great price. The only problem is that it has the 53 block. Im only going to be using this truck for hunting, commuting to and from school and work (120 miles a day), at most the truck may pull 5k, and i wouldnt go over a 100hp chip either. Should i worry about the problems associated with this block? or with the light duty i would be using it for would this be an issue? Thanks in advance

I think the HPCR engines have a different block than the older 24v engines. Where did you see the number 53?

Well the truck is 90 miles away, in the town i hunt in, so my uncle checked it out and said the dealer believes it may have a 53 block...so its definately not for sure id just like to know in advance because ill be going up there to check it out later this week. I had just thought i heard that early 03's had this problem.

No problem with 53 block on any 3rd Gen. That problem went away early 2000 model year, most prevalent in the '99's.
