dorve truck all day with no problems. drove home tonight and heard a whining noise that sounded almost lke the power steering pump. put truck in neutral and the noise went away. I'm hoping i got a bad u joint but worried it might be in the transmission. any thoughts?

pulled driveline this morning, noise is coming from transmission. transmission still shifts fine and doesnt slip. I am thinking maybe the output shaft bearing is bad, anyone else had a problem like this

 

mine did that, then 2 weeks the torque converter went out of it but i use mine strictly for towing,
