Transmission
A couple of times I have been either with a full load in the truck bed or parking my trailor and had to go to 4 wheel drive because the trucks turbo would spool up but the truck would not move and it was on an incline but not much at all. A mechanic friend says the transmission should be about ready for replacement considering it has 60k + on it that that is about the life of one for a dodge. Looking for answers prior to going to service center, only problem there is they will may say something about the Banks system.
Had the same situation, pulling a load up a mtn. Turned out I had fried the primary clutch pack. One thing I did notice after the tow was a "flash" between the 2nd and 3rd gear shifts. Hope your solutions is not what I had to got through. Cost me too much $.

um 60k being the life of one for a dodge? tell your friend that the 48RE is an awesome transmission, and the NV5600 is an even better transmission. MANY people have over 100k on their 48's/NV's with no problems. 60k isnt the life for a new dodge
the banks system would probably best be removed unless your dealer is cool with modifications

Took it to dealer service and they kept it for a few hours and called back and said it needed a new torque converter they would have order another one (here goes the $100 deductable).
As for the Banks System They informed me that "you know if you don't want to void the warranty you need to remove it considering you bought it used". I also noticed that when they pulled the vin # up on the computer it had already had the u-joints replaced and the trans checked along with other drive line stuff either replaced or checked (Gonna ask for a copy). Good news is a bypass connector is on the way free of charge
. I'm going to find out about the torque converter damage and post it. Any one else have similar problem with trans.??
