transmission shudders
Sometimes when my truck shifts into overdrive the tranny shudders until I back off the pedal then does fine. The problem is worse when pulling my boat especially when i start up a decent size hill. It shifts normal when I disengage OD, also the overdrive crapped out around 20k miles and complete unit was replaced then. It's been doing this for over a year and hasn't really been much of a problem but it's a pain when i gotta slow down lol

Re:transmission shudders
I'd say your TC is slipping. Don't delay long or the metal shavings will destroy the AT if it's not already too late. I've replaced mine with the BD convertor with excellent results. My AT has been rebuilt 2X, the second using all BD HD components and the TC. There are many HD convertors and tranny parts sold that make the 47RE tranny practically bullet proof. BTW, replacement TC's are tougher now than when I bought mine, through improvements and new technology.

Hey Harleydog it is for sure the TC. Try to change the filter&fluid first alot of us don't know that we need to change fluid every 12'000 miles to keep all that stuff clean in there and get trash out. Mine did it when I had my friend rebuild it. He also beefed it up too, also started after rebuild been keeping fluid changed stops after every change 8)

harleydog:

Welcome to the website!

I agree 100% with what "Ray" and "Smokin Green
Monster" have already told you! My original stock
transmission did the same thing at about 98,000
miles and I can tell you it will only get worse if you
ignore it! You definitely have a TC problem and I
can pretty safely say that your clutch packs are
probably worn pretty good.

As they said, get something done real soon!

Good luck!

-------
John_P
