Re:Injectors

Injectors are cake . Make sure you have a good 3/4 crowsfoot wrench, it will make everything go easier. Just take off your intake& valve cover, disconect all your high pressure fuel lines completly, and pull the injectors with a deep well socket. it took me a while to get the old injectors out but dont worry just keep wigglin em until they pull out. the #5 & 6 injectors are fun . Good luck and I hope you went with the 370s, theyre worth it. ;D
Good luck
Wheels

Re:Injectors

Fabricate a pipe large enough to go over the injector and seats against the head. And long enough so that just some of the threads are showing at the top of the injector. Find a nut that will thread down on the injector. As you snug down on the nut it will draw up on the injector. Makes life a lot nicer especially the last two.

Rotor:
What is the "Injector Install kit" that I see advertised on some web sites. Is this a production version of the pipe and nut setup that you mention.

Re:Injectors

ok, what's the 3/4" crows foot for? I started the process last night and did not run into anything that needed a 3/4". Re:Injectors

The crowsfoot wrench is for taking off the high pressure lines. I think you can get to them without it but it just makes it easier .
Wheels

Re:Injectors

The install kit includes new copper washers (use the thinest ones) some rubber boots (throw away), some rubber o-rings (use), and some copper line guides for the return line (use). I would definitly get the install kit. Good luck.
Wheels

Re:Injectors

Also depends on where you get the injectors. I got mine from PDR and the install kit comes with the injectors unless you specify otherwise. I second that motion:370's are worth it! With a 0 plate in about stock position it had very little smoke.

Re:Injectors

As someone who did the injector install last night, it was very easy. Just remember to use the thinnest washers. The performance gain is very niticable. Also, the EGT raises incredibly fast, so if don't have a gauge, get on! I had not been over 900 deg before and hit 1200 last night on the leak test run.

Don (like a kid with a new toy) Miller
97 2500 LWB EC, #8 plate, 3k gov springs, 370 injectors, 16 deg timing, 4" shorty RIP Exhaust, Scotty II, Full Isspro gauges

Re:Injectors

Dont feel bad about EGT's. My probe is in the tailpipe back at the rear of truck just about even with the spare tire and I can get 1400 there easily.

Pre-turbo just melts the probe off.

Hope ya know........Im just kidding

Actually with the big turbo I have....the truck never gets over 1300 even with super super super large injectors.

Don~
