U-joint replacement at 40k?

I got 2 u-joints in the rear driveshaft replaced yesterday (under 7/70, so $100 deductible). This seems a bit premature. My 84 Toyota 2wd pickup went over 150k miles before it needed u-joints. I haven't towed over 4k and I do it rarely. I just got a 32' gooseneck flatbed trailer, but haven't used it except empty yet.

Bought my 03' used and found out at dealership they had been replaced already, going to see if they can be lubricated via fitting asap. Does your new u-joints have fittings?
