whats this leaking?? *PICS*

I've noticed some leaking around my valve cover. Is this somthing to be concerened about? Here are some pics, finally worked

Looks like a valve cover gasket seeping. Check the bolt torques, if ok, replace the gaskets. Sometimes just loosening it and repositioning it then retorque it will cure the annoying seepage.

That valve cover gasket is a reusable neoprene model.

If it were me, I'd spray it down with engine degreaser, hose it off and then wait to see how long it takes to get oily again. If it even does.

thanks fellas for the replys. I'll have to try that. I hate to spray water around my engine cause it always gets corrosion and crap around bolts and stuff
i've been wanting to clean my engine so ill go ahead and do it. any thing i need to know on what to keep water and degreaser away from?

Just remove your vanity and valve covers.
There are I think 7 bolts that are 10mm that hold the rocker box down and they torque to 24nm/18ft lbs., that should cure your issue.
The top 2 covers are also torque to that same spec.

Its warranty for 7/100.Its a seepage and most if not all seem to be doing this.

got the same thing
cause I spill oil every time I change oil

seaps through the plastic cover around the filler neck and seaps down around the head

It ain't from spilling oil.Some extra on yours might be.But thats were there ozzing from.Mine has not had oil spilled.I've cleaned it twice in 15k and its back!

Looks like a bit of coolant seepage from the plugs, might want to have that looked at as well. Mine had that when it was new.

Mine looks the same. I just hate dealers so I have put off taking the truck in for any warantee work, but it's added to the list. That way, I can get everything done at one time. -Steve
