My engine has preservative seeping around the valve cover, too. Wipe it off and see if it comes back. I'd be willing to bet it doesn't.

Thanks all for the info. I'll be taking it in next week. I've got some horses to take up to columbus this week for the Equine Affaire and i'll be gone all weekend, so if any of you take it to the dealer before i do, lets us know what they say. Thanks again everyone

That seepage is coming from the rocker box cover not the valve cover and they all do it!

Rocker box gasket

 

Pressure washed mine about 2 months ago and starting to see a very small amount of weeping but IMO nothing to be to concerned about.

 

Mine was replaced at about 4000 miles (rocker box gasket)

 

Someone told me it was the shiney stuff they spray on the motor to make it look new. When it gets hot it kind of melts down to the flat edge and collects there.

Well maybe in the begining.BUT too many posts and too many ozzing.Mine doses it also and its not the shiney stuff!
