Alright I know that this topic has been beatin to death on this forum. But in all the reading I did I still didn't find an answer to my question.
On my 06 there is a port on the drivers side of the transmission, about two inches above the cooler line. It is located towards the back of the case, near where the OD housing bolts on. It looks like an auxillary port? Is this the test port that everyone refers to? I thought that was on the passenger side.
Can I install my temperature sensor there, like many have said before I don't want to spend the money on a pan just yet.

 

You can buy a tranny line that has a socket built into it, goes from the exit port of the tranny to the tranny cooler, and measures the trans fluid temp at its hottest point,

You only lose a couple ounces of fluid, and the whole install can be done lying on your back in the driveway in about 15 minutes. Well worth the money.
