ATF+4 for fluid. Amsoil is overly expensive for the application. Since you need to change the fluid every 30k it just costs too much for the benefit. ATF+4 is as good as it gets with the OE build and is better than most.

Upgrades:

shift kit
billet band strut and anchor
billet front servo with better seals
billet accumulator with better seals
gov pressure transducer and solenoid (either the GM type or the OE upgrade solenoid)

I just used valvoline ATF+4 its synthetic and was around $4 a quart, with my double deep pan taking 24 quarts, I couldnt afford amsoil, like no 6 said every 30k miles.

Holy Cow there's a lot of info there at that site. I like it and will be doing some research for my transmission. Thanks for the link.

That doesn't sound like a good idea to me. In theory, a drain port would sure be nice. In reality, I don't think the meaterial is thick enough for that. I'd be willing to bet money that it will leak.

And, it will be out of balance unless you do the same thing 180* away.

i do it to all my cars and trucks, plenty thick, never leaks when you use a tapered threaded plug, out of balance, nah the material you remove is about the same material and as an alen tapered threaded plug, its not very big
