Tranny problem?

At highway speeds when I let off the accellerator I get sound like I got monster mudgrips on my truck. It sounds worse when I push the clutch in. the truck also shudders right when it comes to a stop. Any ideas? Truck has 67,000 milese on her.

At first glance it sounded like a bad shaft bearing, BUT after rereading your post, I would pull the entire driveshaft out and check your u-joints and carrier bearing, the low speed shutter usually tends to be u-joint related, while the high speed noise you hear could be a bearing or a u-joint.

Best of luck

Next door neighbor had a similar issue and the dealership ended up saying he had a froze up u-joint. Replaced the u-joint and that section of driveline.
