trailer left turn/brake. anybody solve this

Power at the fuse. No power for left turn/brake at either the flat 4 or 7 pin rv. These have coninuity to each other though.

Ive have read many of the threads on this issue and I can't find a final solution other than bypassing the factory wiring with a aftermarket trailer light module.
Is replacing the front control module (fcm) the answer? The relay is integral to this and could be the colpurate.
I cán't find a good wiring diagram to test for continuity all the way from fcm to tail plug.
The dodge dealer wasn't helpful and didn't know anything about a reflash that heard mentioned on a couple of threads.
anybody know the correct pins at the fcm or at the connectors under the driverside wheel well. Im leaving on a trip soon and don't want to hack into my stock wiring if I can help it.

May be a dumb question on my end, but have you checked all your trailer fuses? Even if it doesn't look bad it can still be burnt. You may try replacin' that left side fuse.....

I assume you are dealing with an 03-05 truck? If so, yes the relay is the likely culprit. It is NOT in the FCM. It is in the PDC (Power Distribution Center) on the underside and is generally regarded as not servicable (Though, some enterprising indviduals have taken apart the PDC and soldered in a new relay on the PC board inside the PDC) without replacing the PDC. Also, note the the IPM (Integrated Power Module) is a combination of the FCM and PDC.

There is a thread from SOhappy showing the installation of a Modulite light module to bypass the trailer signal relays in the PDC.

Nathan,
I had a similar problem but with right turn.It turned out to be the rt turn blade loose in the plug.Replaced the plug and added a plug in the bed and now all is good.

I had the same problem, started with just one lamp and ended up being a whole bunch. I had to replace the fuse panel because a trace on the PCB had corroded completely away.

If the relay and/or PC board in the PDC is the problem (it usually is), then, yes, replacing the PDC will fix the problem. That does not mean a relay will not ever wear out in the new PDC. That could very well take many years to happen, though.

Need to know what year truck you have. There are significant differences between 03-05 and 06-07.

The 06+ trucks can have the TIPM reset if it popped in the FCM portion, the others can't.

Had similar problems. Installed a Modulite which boosts the signal to the trailer. Check out this thread.
