Looking for sound advice, wisdom and knowledge. I just completely blew up my custom 48RE tranny. Destroyed the input shaft and the torque converter. Very Bummed . I need to rebuild but I don’t have the money I had 5 years ago. Anybody got any advice for a budget minded rebuild? This is the third time after building the tranny I have been down. 1st, Ripped all the rivets from the turbine center in torque converter, 2nd time ripped the center out of stock flex plate. Now I literally ripped the input shaft into pieces. I hear Sonnax has a double disc two sided converter. Any comments?

He builds ours for the blown alcohol motors so I think you'll be ok with one of his.
