Tips for replacing drivers side headlight

Just bought some xenon headlight bulbs to replace my old halogen ones. Was about to install them, and couldn't for the life of me figure out how to install the drivers side one. The instructions in the HAYNES manual I have say to take out the battery and remove the fuse/relay box!!!! It seems crazy to have to jump through that many hoops just to change a light bulb! I figure there has to be a trick or two that someone has figured out. Any ideas?

3 screws, once you open the hood, you will see 2, the other is between the headlight bottom, and the bumper, on the right hand side of the light, thats it, pull straight back when the screws are out, the one between the bump and light is tricky, best to have a little magnet handy when its out, cause its hard to hold on the 10 mm socket, unless you have small fingers.

Two bolts on the rad support, one on outboard lower corner and the whole headlight bucket pulls straight out. There is a plastic clip and locator to help keep it there so you gotta wiggle it around a bit.

that sounds a lot easier

Than doing that contortionist horse that they describe in the owners manual. I don't know about you, but my girlfriend gets angry at me when i make her loosen/tighten things because my hands won't fit into the little spaces. I'll try just pulling the whole headlight assembly and switching the lights that way.

I almost wish I would have searched on here before I bought the xenon lights, because it sounds like for 50 dollars more, I could have gotten an HID setup from http://www.xenongate.com

I guess there's always room to upgrade.

Take the top plastic piece on the bumper loose by removing 2 screws in the wheel well. That makes getting to the hidden screw easier.
