Strange noise coming from front drivers side wheel?

I have a noise coming from the front drivers side wheel. I do not know how long its been making this noise. I heard it the other day when I let someone drive my truck while I rode in the passanger side with the window down. The best way I can explain the noise is it sounds like when we used to play tricks on friends who had hub caps. We would put a small rock or marble in the hub cap and it would roll around in there as they drove. Thats what it sounds like.

Wheel bearing??

Thanks in advance

Glen

You have no sig so we don't know how to answer this properly. If it is a 4X4 it could be the CV joints. Or the last guy you ran over.

Sorry, yes the truck is a 4x4. I recently had that sides hub replaced (within the last 3 months). It could very well have been making the noise since then.

If it were me I would take the truck back and complain about the noise. See if they will fix it under warranty. If it is not something they did or didn't do hopefully they will identify the problem and save you the problem of trouble shooting.

WEEEELLLL, that would kinda be a problem because I didnt have it done at a shop. but I can take it back to the guy who did it for me (Niece's hubby, he is a mechanic), but he is VERY hard to tie down. He works out of town alot. but I will be contacting him and see if he can take a look at it.

Glen

I had an old chevy once that made a noise kinda like that, the rim was cracked near the lug nuts.

I just spoke to my "nephew in law".......lol.....I guess thats what you would call him.....anyways he said he will take a look at it this weekend if he don't get called in. He also told me to check and make sure the center cap is not loose or that something could have gotten into it. Hopefully its nothing major. I was planing on starting the bombing process next month but if this cost some $$$ the wife will put the hammer down on it. Ive already spent $600 bucks getting the fuel shut off problem solved.......arrrrg

Glen

I have 4 wheel anti-lock brakes on my '97...once the drivers side front was making a clicking noise...turned out to be the ABS sensor was out of adjustment. Just pried it out a little and the noise stopped.
