Quad Cab door latch adjustment

One of my quad doors won't unlatch via the latch on the inside. Is there a quick and easy adjustment for these or do I have to take the panel off and tear into it from the inside?

Don't quote me, but I think those doors are famous for losing the linkage to the handle inside. It seems like I saw a post about it and possibly a TSB. You can check for the TSB here: http://dodgeram.info/tsb/index.html.
Maybe someone else will have a better memory than I.

Chris

Before you tear anything apart, check that the childproof lock is not on. On mine it seems that everytime I wash the inside of the RH rear door the wiping action activates the childproof lock.

Mexstan,
I've never noticed a childproof mechanism on the 2nd gen doors, as they are suicide doors and cannot be opened by anyone unless the front door is open already.

Chris

Re:Quad Cab door latch adjustment

On my 2000 the inside handle is attached to the jamb door latch mechanism via a cable. You can get at it (though not easily) by removing the handle on the jamb side of the quad door. Sounds like your cable slipped out or the cable mount is broken (like mine). I just left mine as you can still open the door from the jamb side handle but my inside handle no longer works. Good Luck...
