You just proved my point there Billy, Allison is a division of GM. So why would GM sell trannies to DC, and why would DC be stupid enough to buy them when they have some of the best engineers in the world(the Germans) all ready in house. I'm not trying to start a war here, but why would DC be gearing up for the 48RE only to turn around and put an allison it the trucks a year down the road? Do you know how much it costs to make those kinds of changes to get that stuff to market? Millions. I've said it before and I'll say it again. There will be NO ALLISON IN DODGE TRUCKS &gt; &gt; &gt;

I heard that Chevy changed the orginal Allison design to make them cheaper and smaller, that is the reason for the problems. Also heard that Allison isn't standing behind them for this reason. Don't know how true it all is, but may not be Allisons fault

My dad's best friend just bought a new Ford F250 Powerstroke. He said he has the Allison tranny in it. I thought Ford had put the Allison in thier trucks? can someone pm me with this info? Thank you<br><br>Mike

All right guy's I am layed back until somebody starts spreading untrue facts &gt;Neither DC or Ford has an Allison. GM is the only company that has Alli and is the only company that will. Mainly because of the fact that THEY OWN ALLISON. So everybody go out and tell everyone who says this kind of stuff that they have their head up their you know what.

luke when the 48re get here is it going to be the only automatic available or will the 250 hp still have the 47re behind it?<br><br>also do you know how much if any of a price increase will be on the 48re thanks

I do not know if the 48re will replace the 47re in all aplications. I hope it will but for some reason I doubt it. I will have this info very soon. They have not notified us of prices yet but I'm sure it will be higher than the 47re. I will pass this info along as I get it.
