straight to high idle?

I have noticed that if I start my truck, not plugged in while in the single digits it goes straight to high idle(1000 rpm) without the normal delay. Do others trucks do this as well?

I've had mine do it 2 or 3 times on cold days when leaving work. I believe it's normal.

How cold does it have to be before the high idle feature kicks in?

Mine does it with a delay in the upper or mid 20's. Colder and not plugged in and it will do it as soon as started.

Turning on the jake while high idle is on really helps heat things up...

If I don't plug my truck in, sometimes it goes right into the high idle and other times it has to run a couple minutes before it will. I can't really find a pattern to it.

I think they all do this, it takes 2 minutes before the 1000 rpm idle if the coolant is less then X degres and not touching the brake or fuel

same with the instant start up 1000rpm, I hold on the brake til it slows down, the espar eliminates any cold start up problems
