Stock Power Steering Pump Modificaitons?
I guess I have to ask - Why?
Usually guys want the opposite to increase MPG.
The pump may be variable displacement / have pressure feedback. If so, then the spring acting on the ecentric will increase the pressure. Try to find out the supplier of the pump, then contact the supplier to understand more on the design.

I did my flush the hard way, lost POS PS cap on the way to Darlington SC, took a bottle of fluid after new cap installed, lost cap on way home from Darlington AGAIN, replaced cap this time with modified cap and another bottle of fluid. I think it's flushed, don't recommend this process
even though it does rust proof the under carriage at the same time.
Note to others: Do the cap mod.
