So who's running side exhaust?

I always wondered if there where any side exhaust kits for our trucks, but haven't found any. Did some searches and nothing really came up thread wise. So who's (if anyone) running either a kit or custom setup? Please post some pics, Thanks ahead.

Here's a vid I found of a second gen, after seeing this, now I really wanna do it. The guys on TDR and CDF, but not DTR.

i dont know where to find one but if you ever have to sleep in your truck while it is cold outside you do not want your exhaust there

Yeah this is true. See I really wanted to do a single stack, but I have a tool box and don't wanna have to move the box back and have a gap. Plus I have a short bed and it's already pretty small in there with the toolbox.

So I'm going to go with the next best thing in my opinion, custom straight pipe side exit. It will be different, something not seen as much.

Are there any 3rd gens out there running this setup at all???

It's easy enough to do, but you'll be spending a lot of time cleaning the soot off you right back wheel. Black Cloud Diesel used to have side pipe kits. I don't see them on their website anymore. You could always use a stack for a side pipe.

I have a Rip Rook Shorty exhaust. I like it. The right wheel does get a little sooty, but not bad enough that I'd change it.

I've had mine dumping in front of the tire for quite awhile now...it does dirty up the rear wheel a bit, but I've never really had any problems with it! Sounds a lot better going through a tunnel too!

I ran a 5inch stack(with some modification) from downpipe back for about 3 months. It came out between nerf bar and back tire. I like the sound just driving around but pulling a load the drone was just too much. As far as soot it was more noticable on the side of my truck

I had one for awhile after I got home from the Marine Corps... Loved the way it sounded up against bridges, barriers, parked cars, and in tunnels. But I have always been a stack kinda guy, not to mention an outside the box stack kinda guy. I currently have a 4" by 6' tall (7' 6" tip to ground hight) miter cut single right now. I have two 5" by 5' 6" miter cuts almost prepped for install with a custom 4" down pipe. Can't wait to see how throaty that gets

I see a few long bed 3rd gen wreckers with side exhaust almost daily at the body shop across the street. Looks pretty good, sounds ok, but I am sure on mine I would be cleaning soot off daily.

Side Exhaust

I have a 4in straight with a 5in tip coming out about a foot infront of my right rear tire, sounds really good and unique turbo is a lot louder, and really gets the person on your right sides attention. Only bad thing is i now have 1 black rim "power pup". Does your truck pour a lot of coal?

Not so much, I'm not running any power programmers so I dont really know how dirty my rear wheel will get. I imagine it will dump some soot on the wheel, but I don't think it will be that bad.
