This Smarty JR
i have a few questions.. I have heard some good things about the smarty. I had a 2005 6 speed manual with the bully dog and slipped the clutch and had to get a heavy duty south bend.
NOW I have a 07 with a 6 speed stick and want to know if you think i will slip it with a smarty or does it have a safe setting or what.
You may note that i am not really looking for power increase i really would like to get some smoke. Would i be better off just getting the Smarty Jr since i am just wanted smoke and i dont want to chance slipping my clutch.
I need some input and thoughts about this.
Can i even get some smoke with the JR. Thanks

The SmartyJR is safe for your truck, it will smoke, but it won't billow it out. It will, however, make you think you have a brand new truck all over again!!! If you want extra smoke you could always do the smoke switch.
I've had the Smarty Jr. on my '03, HO since Christmas. Tried all levels & have not noticed excessive smoke on any level. My Van Aaken C-3.2 smoked much more.
I can understand how the smoke could be fun but, in reality, it's just lost power. BTW, the Smarty Jr. is more powerful than the VA C-3.2. Just doesn't 'look' as impressive, I guess!!!
Regarding the clutch, I drive on the high level (100 HP) the vast majority of the time & have not slipped the clutch (stock), yet. I towed my 7000+lb. trailer on the 70 & 100 HP levels & it did not slip, either.

I'm running the 40hp setting with no clutch issues. Haven't towed much on any setting yet. 70hp was more smoke, but didn't feel as snappy down low as the40hp did. Both setting make enough smoke for my liking and the mileage increased too.
