Shopping for best price on new head gasket?

Drove 20miles and burned just as much oil and coolant as diesel....maybe more.....White smoke and vapor out the stack....no hp....rough.

Too much of everything last night at the track. ks

Your local Cummins dealer will probably have the best price.
Or you can search dealers and might find one cheaper but you might have to pay shipping.
The part number is on the gasket it self.....as I remember I think its 3958645

No real trick, just keep everything organized. And have an engine lift to pull it and set it. It will make life go alot easier

Service manual is pretty good....pretty much step by step. and alot of work....thank goodnes I bought that new air ratchet. I was gonna get the local Cummins service shop to do the final pull after I got things back to stock but they wanted to do it all including taking off the twins, gauge lines, water injection etc...not too keen on letting anyone undo what obviously works. Crap I need the practice....Gonna get two big bed sheets and as I pull parts I'll use a marker to mark on the sheets the order they come off and position....that ought to keep everyone but the maid happy. Lmills, I'll be using the John Deere diesel powered engine lift....that should work, ehhhh! ks

Good to Go....Everrrryyything in Hand

All tools, tarps, sheets, gauges, calipers, gaskets, drop pans and lights are in hand. Time for a late breakfast, Final clean up of the shop. Then tear down starts. I hope to get down to the head studs today. Tomorrow valve train disassembly, injectors out, head in hand, block polished. ks
