Secret to shifter **** removal ?

Tryed to take off the shifter **** on a manual shift transfer case till I had the truck spinning! (cartoon visual on that) Would not break loose.

I believe you have to take out the plastic insert (with the numbers on it). There's a nut underneath that.

are you replacing the cheap plastic/rubber oem ****? i was wondering if there is a nice leather one out there that would work.

Thank's for the tip. gota dig kind of deep to get it out. Yes I replaced the **** with a 44 Magnum from jegs.I'll try to find a link to it.

i replaced my factory trans shift **** with an eaton fuller 10 speed ****, and i have a set of chrome "brass" knuckles i want to use for my transfer case shift ****, a lil different but shouldnt be to bad

jegs.com do a part # search (#034-604038 ) thats the 44 magnum I got. Looks good with the taupe interior.

I have a Hurst white 6spd shift **** for a late model Z28 in my stocking. I had a machine shop make a 10mm x 1.5mm to 16mm x 1.5mm threaded adapter so it would mount to the factory lever.
