Seafoam
MSDS: Seafoam contains three (3) ingredients.
Pale Oil
Naptha (solvent)
IPA (aka Isopropanol)
Here's some reading about the three.

Maybe in a mechanical diesel engine, it'd be fine to use.
HPCR'S have enough problems with injectors without solvents and alcohol being used.

Much better post than mine.
Thanks for the info guys! The MSDS does not lie. I won't be putting any more in my CTD. I will run half the tank out and dilute it down with more fuel. I may use some meaner cleaner stuff or 2 stroke TCW-3. I'm glad I asked because in a gasser seafoam will work wonders. I am glad I found this forum. It has already helped me out a lot.
Agreed on the gassers, I "sprayed for bugs" with seafoam a few times and it did a real good job cleaning out my carb. We used to use it in a few 7.3 Powerstrokes and it worked well. I use stanadyne lubricity formula in my 5.9 and have had good results. Just another suggestion.
Diesel Power Mag just did a test with a few additives. They don't get alot of respect on here, but their magazine does make for good toilet reading.

Seafoam site does not list it's contents, but this stuff really cleans well. Like a gasser engine spraying a fine mist of water in the intake to clean up carbon.
Pls post link to any study done on the harmful effects of seafoam on 3rd gen fuel systems, I would like to readup.
One of the chevy sites had the lubricity study done on ULSD and it ended up on TDR. The test showed all the imposter snake oil additives that claimed lubricity but actually lowered it. Was a good read, makes you think twice about using MMO in your tank!
