Thumbs up Seafoam fuel additive (Update)

In follow up to yesterdays previous post on seafoam, here are my findings.I added two 16 oz. cans of the seafoam fuel additive to a full tank of fuel this morning.I drove 200 miles after the fill and have to admit my slight ticking noise I had is now gone.I guess I am sold on the seafoam as far as a injector cleaner, but will still use the stanadyne PF and primrose 405-409 additives in every tank.coobie

Seafoam would be pretty expensive to run- $5-6 for every tank at the recommended dose.

Seafoam is not meant to be run all the time. Every 5-10K miles is good enough in my book. It works GREAT for gassers too. I use it in everything from chainsaws to diesel mowers.

I really liked the results I got with the Howes Meaner Kleaner. Just another good option for the guys in Canada. Lordco has it.

should you change the fuel filter before or after using Sea foam & M/M oil? It needs changing, but I do not want to have to do it twice unless really needed

I would just run a new filter when you add the Sea Foam. Shouldn't hurt a thing.

Regarding the MMO, I add it to the fuel tank at a ratio of 4 oz. to 10 gals. of fuel. I do not put it in the fuel bowl, along with the filter.

You want to get as much Sea Foam into the filter bowl, as possible, so you have as pure a dose of Sea Foam running through the injectors. Adding the MMO to the fuel filter bowl along with the SF would dilute the SF. The rest, you can put into the fuel tank, or run another fuel bowl dose.

I've never seen this Seafoam anywhere. Where does one find it? Maybe we just don't have it up here.

If you run sea foam in the fuel tank the effects are negligable compared to putting it in concentrated. It was reccomended to me to run the seafoam when you do the filter change and use it to fill the filter housing rather than diesel. In the second generation the canister will hold a full can plus of it. In a gasser engine you pull a vaccume line and stick the line in the can and you will be amazed at the results. Just make sure you give the throttle a little extra boost while your running it.
