I need help, 04 dodge 2500 5.9. It idles up and runs rough when i start it up and if ive been driving and i stop somewhere for 5min. Only does it in park and stops when i tap the breaks (turning wheel doesnt). I also noticed my stock pump is making a whining noise (dont know if that just started to or not. But tried new filter but no help. Anyone have/solve similar issues???

When I first purchased my 05 with 22,000 miles on it I had a very similar problem. Sometimes I would crank it up and the idle was really rough. Then after a minute or so it would start to run smooth. Also if I stopped on the Interstate rest area and then cranked it up again after a few minutes it would do it. I took it back to the dealer and he run tests and determined it could be two bad injectors which he replaced. That Friday evening when I picked it up to drive home it did it again right there at the dealers garage !!! They were about to close for the day and told me to bring it back on Monday. I figured it was an injector issue, something plugged up possibly on one injector. That Saturday morning I purchased some Diesel Kleen in the Gray bottle at Walmart. I put in a heavy dose while filling the tank and drove it all weekend. It has never done it again!! This was 85,000 miles ago and 10 years. It may not help your issue but it worked for me. I had always thought additives for fuel were a waste of money until this experience. I have continued to use the recommended dosage at every fill up since.

Pull dog thanks for response, mine doesnt idle back down though. Mine started after i added some cleaner in the tank that i got from napa. He said a lot of ppl would add it to their tank after an oil change (so i did to). Maybe it broke some thing free and plugged somewhere? And im pretty sure my transfer pump didnt whine before i added it either. Im going to check low pressure side and see if its giving what it needs, but i have it fluxuating between 740-1100psi at the injector. Does that sound normal? And this all began happening after cam sensor went out and was replaced. Even changed the filter thinking it may just be plugged

Mine does a "stumble start" first thing in the morning especially when engaging the grid heater.
I think my 6-year old AGM's are going down hill. Subsequent starts no issue.

I dont think thats my problem, doesnt puff out white smoke and my agms are fairly new. Was thinking it was just that cold start idle up but it happens when it was 50° out, and when trucks been up to temps after driving
