Well, I was pulling my horse trailer 3 hrs last night and when i stopped for fuel It was Idling rough. Not shake the truck rough but not smooth. No smoke of any kind. Dealer Replaced #5 injector about 1,ooo miles ago. I started it up today it it was fine, then went rough for about 2 minutes then smooth as glass again. Still no smoke!!!

When my #5 went out I was getting white smoke at start up no matter the temp outside..... I have heard for guys needing one replaced then having to go back for all 6... ANy ideas???


ANd to top it off someone hit and run my truck today and put it' sfirst dent in it!! Thanks for the advice

 

try running some 2stroke oil. I justr started and my truck seems to be running really smooth the last 2 tanks.

 

I had the same problem last time I traveled all day. It would seem to run rough at idle, and if I shut it down when refueling, it ran smoother.
I took it to a dealer and they said there was a TSB for it and reflashed the software.
It ran smooth for a couple of weeks but is doing it again. I'm wondering if it's not fuel quality.

 

The same thing happend to me three weeks ago. Changed the fuel filter that had roughly 10000 miles on it and the problem went away.

 

Cool, thanks!! DId not do it the entire way home. I think my truck does not like the Opti Lube XPD very much! It loved it to begin with but now not sure. Ran 400 miles home today like a charm!! I just added 2 micron Filtration and have less than 1,000 miles on the main and Aux fuel filters. I will change them out tomorrow anyway!! Thanks!! Nice to know mine is not the only one. If I start seeing white smoke, then To the dealer she will go for 6 inkectors!! Chrysler only does ONE at first then if you bring it back, all 6!!
