Rough Idle on Cold Start

So, my truck has a miss when it first starts up in the morning or when it sits all day at work. It will run poorly for usually less then 30 seconds. Runs great for the rest of the drive.

Injectors are new, fca is new, fuel filter is new. Supply pressure is about 8psi and it has no codes.

I have done a fuel return test several times and get about 60ml for injector return and about 700ml for pump return. Also the banjo bolt for the fuel pressure relief is wet.

It is an 05 2500 auto, not a lot of kms. I am running superchips cortex though in or out doesn't seem to matter.

I'd appreciate any help or suggestions, thanks.

Start at the banjo bolt if everyting is new, and that is the the only thing that seems to be out of order.

Rough idle on cold start, pretty common stock or not. Anyone with a diesel will tell you that.

I have an 05 model and had the exact same problem. It was very intermittent and the dealer tried several things, even replaced two injectors.
The problem went away totally when I started using Power Service in the gray bottle!!!!!!!!! This went on for over a year and I have used Power service over 2 months now without another episode of rough idle. I really believe in the stuff!!

Banjo isn' supposed to be wet. That means your relief has opened and once it does, it doesn't hold pressure very well. Mine is tapped and plugged already. Lots of guys have done this.

thanks for the info, I thought maybe there might be some back feed from the pump return. What do you mean tapped and plugged?
