Roaring sound

I guess thats the best way to describe it. Its a fricton/grinding kind of sound. It just started yesterday (at least thats the first time ive heard it). Its coming from the front end and i can feel it as well as hear it. What could it be? U-joints, hub assemblies? The truck tracks straight, i have no death wobble. I was also thinking it could be coming from the tranny. I just had a new dual disk clutch installed. I dont know if it came with new pilot and throwout bearings but is it possible its from one those? I know this is vague but im just trying to narrow down the possibilities. I was hoping to get the manual hub conversion kit when my hub assemblies went but im not sure if i'll be able to.

Aww man, I hate driveline noises. One of the big problems is that the sound can travel a long way from the source before you hear it. My first thing I would do is mess around. Is is louder under load? Does it continue if you are coasting? Does it increase with speed? .....and so on until you can hopefully start to pin it down.

Your tellin me. I hate driveline noises. I dont think it gets louder under load but it does continue while coasting. And it does increase with speed.

....when my hub bearing went out, it made a HUGE racket, the grinding sound increased with speed up to ~ 20mph, then quieted out. Jack up the front end and spin each wheel, that will pinpoint - or eliminate - the hub bearing(s) as the source...

- good luck -

Throw out bearing in my experience has a whining noise, almost like your turbo spooling up. Mine only happened on initial take-off.
