Question about the 48RE Tranny?

My new 05 2500 was delivered today and was browsing through the owners manual and read some info regarding the Tranny. It has a paragraph that starts out with a bold heading.

"When To Lock Out Overdrive" in bold letters
"When driving in hilly areas, towing a trailer, carrying a heavy load, etc., and frequent 4-3-4 transmission shifting occurs, press the "TOW/HAUL" button. This will improve performance and reduce the potential for transmission overheating or failure due to excessive shifting."

Has there been a change to the 48RE again??

I have an 04 which has this and my book states exactly that. I didn't think the 05's have the tow/haul feature.

On the 05's putting the tranny in Tow/Haul mode just changes the shifting parameters. It will still shift into OD, but at different speed/loads then when not in Tow/Haul mode.
