? on price used axles

I can buy a used set of 1 ton axles and springs. 9.25 and 11.5. 4:10's. Truck burnt. Front - seals burnt out. Rear complete. Give some opinions on what they are worth for the pair.

Did you find out from someone what it costs to rebuild them?

They only have value if there is a demand for them.

Do they break alot? Then there might be demand and be desirable for parts.

Are people using them to transplant to other vehicles? Then there might be a demand. I've never heard of people using AAM axle for anything but OEM applications.

So, my guess, there is little value.

on the other hand, they are worth a good penny, as these types of axles are hard to find. i myself would think that they would be 500-????? just depends.
the front axles is the scary one, as the seals are not easy to replace, and you have to do a complete over haul if they took on heat and destroyed the seals.that could be exspensive.

700 is what I paid. I wanted the front becasue of the issues I had with grinding when I put in the locker. I had to buy the rest to get the front. But with two trucks an extra rearend is good to have just in case something blows. BTW they were 3.73. Plus I was thinking of adding the leaf to the rear to get the 3500 payload. Is it worth it?

<-Works at a junkyard....

Just to give you an idea what wed charge for one(and other yards around the US)
'05 9.25 with 3.73s - $1900-2200
'03 11.5 with 3.73s $1800-2000

Now obviously you cant get some cheaper thru private parties, and prices vary at junkyards as well, just giving you a ballpark to go off of...

Wow, that'll make everyone want to jump right in and help! You know, it wasn't that people looking didn't feel qualified to answer, it was really a plot to keep you down!

Sheesh, put down the pipe and relax. You'll be alright.
