preheat light

preheat light

i bought a 2006 2500 and the preheat light and water in fuel light do not come on when i turn the key on , the service manager said they do not come on when you turn key on but my 02 / 04 did not so sure i can trust him so someone with a 06 let me know please.

My 06 does not either, but it it 100 degrees here so i dont exprect it to untill it cools off

I don't think mine come on unless they need to. The grid heater light will come on for a split second in the summer, but in the winter can stay on for as long as 10 seconds. Water in Fuel light has never come on for me (except when I mixed up some wiring once).

You can start it like a gasser down to around 60 degrees on the "06" then the wait to start light will come into action. I haven't seen mine for a month now.

Mine is an 04.5. The "wait to start" light comes on everytime on mine, but only for a second in warm weather.

I thought I read somewhere on here that the 06 truck's light doesn't come on at all, unless it is cold enough to need it.

The 06 light doesnt come on everytime, that means you are already warm enough to start. Im assuming you know all about the lack of spark plugs on diesels, etc. That light is just telling you its warming up, wait until winter to see it.
