If i throw the truck into reverse and give it some gas to get going quickly there is a popping sound which dosent sound good, its not too loud, but noticable. if i put it in reverse and sit still for a couple seconds then go in reverse it does not make the popping sound.

any idea what this is? and if its coming from the tranny or the rear end?

does the popping come from the exhaust,when the driveline hits or a clunk in the rear we need more info to help....

 

i dont think it is the exhaust? is that a common problem?

your more of a man than me if you can throw it in reverse...and if your using gas, that might have something to do with it

its like when you have to turn around fast say in traffic you sto pput it in reverse and go not wait a couple seconds when you have oncoming traffic.

 

i just take to the sidewalk or grass if i cant make the turn...almost hit a light pole or two but they moved...probably knew what was best for them

i dunno it just did it when i put it into reverse to back in to my driveway, if i would have waited a couple secs after i put it into reverse to give it gas it would not have made the noise.

 

thats strange, at first i thought maybe a u-joint but since thats the only time its done it ????

im sure its good. how many miles? and hows the head unit working?

and no thats not the only time, it will do it every time i put into reverse and dont wait a couple seconds before i give it gas to go backwards....
