PML vs. Mag Hytec

Hey all I am looking at the Mag Hytec diff covers and trans pan.Checking out Genos the PML parts are $80 less. Are the Mag Hytec's worth the extra dough??

Both are nice pieces. For the rear end the MH holds more fluid and has a dip stick. The PML uses the factory rubber gasket.

I have the PML on my truck and no complaints for the last 7 or 8 years.

PML good

The PML is very very nice. The Differential cover came with nice stainless steel bolts. I think it holds a extra quart and half? I can't remember, I will have to look. I have the PML Transmission pan and its good too, it has a drain plug. I don't understand why the factory transmission pan didn't come with a drain plug, Crazy.
You can't go wrong with either brand.

I have the MH trany and rear diff, my trany pan is the double deep one, keeps my trany cool even when towing, they both seem like good products.

I have PML diff covers and tranny pan. The only thing I don't like about the tranny pan is the drain plug is located on the side of the pan. I use a funnel to direct the fluid to my drain pan when I change the fluid.

I've had a PML rear diff cover for about 7 years with no issues.
If I was buying today, I would buy the PPE rear diff cover. IMO it has superior cooling consideration & design built into it.

It retails about US$270, about the same as the rest.

Ehh I have time, I guess I'll start iritating people. You get what looks good to you and what you can afford. Drain bolts on tranny pans help alot but you're still getting fluid on you and the floor. Extra capacity does not mean cooler fluid. Advertising is not data. All three companies make nothing more than vague claims. PML tells us what "costomers report"... so what. There is probably no bias there.

By the way, I have PML front to back... because it looks good and I can afford it. I also have a temp gauge and it may take marginally longer to get to temp but it still gets there.

I tried a MH on my 97 ctd D80 and it only made about 3* difference and double the cost of a lube change. I am a believer in having the level up into the axle tubes to be sure the wheel brgs get lube so I put a hole higher on my AAM cover and it now holds 1 more qt. Craig
