Plastic piece in front of Intake Horn

I dont know exactly how to describe this, but here it goes. I have 2 friends with 2004 auto transmission trucks. They both have some sort of plastic thing just foward of the intake horn, just above the injection pump. Mine is a 6-speed and I dont have this thing. Is it something I'm missing, or is it something to do with the automatic.

I've also seen pictures of the piece in the pacbrake installation instructions.

John,
Its the throttle linkage cover for the 48RE. The 2005 do not have it as the 48RE is now completly electroniclly controlled.

Look under the dash board at the accelerator pedal and follow the linkage. There is none as it is all electric. The plus is that where the linkage used to go through the firewall there is a rubber plug. I used this as a point to bring all of my wiring and tubing for my gauges and the Pac brake.
