piston ring failure

not sure of the excact cause of this, but some problems the owner had.... green stuff air filter, not mantained with signs of dirt in the intake, banks 6 gun and no egt gauge, and nasty, NASTY engine oil, #1 and #6 both had ring failures, #1 broke top and 2nd rings and most of them were gone, #6 broke the top ring and some how, pieces of it made it up on top of the piston and beat the heck out of the piston and head, #2,3,4,5 all look perfect....

Thats sweet...

Doesn't cylinder 1 and 6 have an imbalance in airflow causing them to run noticably higher temps??? Seems like I read that somewhere about the CR engines...
Thought that was alot of the sales point behind the Wilson intake and others similar....
Good pics.. I can't tell, are the cylinder walls galled???

Intake air contamination.

Dodge has a TSB on this very issue. They claim that dirt making it into the intake will due to the design of the intake concentrate in cylinders #1 and #6. I would say that intake air contamination took out this engine.
