Parts availability for 271 transfer case?

Has anyone had to buy any hard parts for the 271 transfer case? Something is wrong inside mine and I'd like to find out if I can get repair parts before I tear into it. I am at 66k miles out of the 7/70 so I'm going to try to get it taken care of. It leaked itself dry apparently (took 2 quarts of ATF today!). If I knew it was leaking I would have taken care of it but grrrr!!!

Thanks,
Andy

I will have to see what I can find. I bet there aren't many out there! I'll see what the dealer says Monday. I just hope they will fix it under the 7/70 but I have my doubts. I would almost pay a grand for parts and do it myself than even talk to a dealer about it.

....sounds like you could have used a tech near your truck once in awile. If it was down that far, and you're having issues, you most likely need a new one.

What would have prompted a tech to be nearby? Take it in every 10,000 miles so they can inspect it?

I have a transfer case for a third gen. It was for my 05, but dealer fixed mine. They said it will work on any transmission. Let me know.
