p0148 code making me gray headed!!!!!

hey guys tried two high dollar sensors . the light still shines! think im going to have to see a shrink over this darn light. i am going on a long trip in two months, i really want this light thing solved , concidering changing the lift pump or adding one of these mechanical lift pumps that mount under the harmonic balancer. when the dealer pulls up the info on the code it tells us that at time of fault the rail pressure is 4000 #s,lower than the fuel rail pressure set point but when we hook the computer to it and let it run it shows to be together with each other.ITs almost like it happens just long enough to throw the code then works fine . Im wondering if the lift pump could be dying just long enough to throw the code? the truck ,like i said never skips a beat. runs great ,no missing ,no sputtering, nothing.i am adding a fuel pressure gage on the low pressure side hopfully soon to see if i can catch any differation in pressure at time of the dreaded light. What do you guys think?

P0148-high Pressure Common Rail (hpcr) Checksum
These are possible causes that will set that code.
There are tests to run to check each one. I would be looking at the FCA first on list. Did you have recall done for fuel tank vent hoses? If not you may have some water in tank causing problems.
Fuel Control Actuator
Fuel Pressure Sensor
Cascade Overflow Valve
Check Valve Damaged Or Blocked
Fuel Return Lines Obstruction, Damage, Or Debris
Lift Pump Flow
Air In Fuel System
Leaking Fuel Injectors Or High Pressure Connectors
Pressure Limiting Valve
High Pressure Fuel Pump

Recall has no expiration time so if not done get it done, it might also give you some ammo if there is water in fuel take. Since it was there fuel tank design that caused it.

You Need To Have Fuel Return Tests Done.i Kept Getting This Code On A Truck I Was Working On.i Had Way To Much Injector Fuel Return When Testing At Full Fuel Pressure. Using The Fuel Pressure Over Ride.if You Take Your Truck To The Dealer They Should Do This Test. I Had To Replace All 6 Injectors Due To The Amout Of Return I Had 600ml. Replaced The Injectors Code Went Away.

the dealer did the ECM latest update, the fuel return test , the injector test, changed control module, changed fuel rail pressure sensor, the temperature here in tenn. has ben really warm for the past several days ,no light!!!it seems that when it stays really warm and really dry no light! maybe its a summer truck? I drove a 92 dodge gas truck for 10 years all sorts of problems. some differ with temperature some did not. my 06 diesel is such a big change for the better, apposed to the 92. I tow excavating equipment almost every week. This 06 diesel has ben a dream compared to my other truck the only thing is this light, i believe i will hang in there and fix it some how

I had this code coming on for a while and it ended up being a fuel fitting was sucking air through the threads where there was no teflon.

checked on recall today they give me the runn around said there was no such recall. I believe that it has been to long or there just trying to forget things that might cost them money. the dealer said if i brought it in they would check for the hoses and any water in the fuel but you know they will charge me . I think they love me at the dealership i have ben writing some pretty big checks there lately.
