Mine went out at 50,000 miles and was replaced at the dealer with the retro-fit in tank setup.

Mine ws still going strong when I did the GDP mood at about 120k. Currently have 189k ...thats about 68k on the Glacier pump with no problems.

Mine lasted 20000km/15000 miles.

Here is a source for a direct replacement. A pre-pump filter/strainer is now added.

I too highly recommend not installing the retrofit in-tank pump unless they let you hang onto the old tank cannister.

Just replace mine with the OEM type from Genos. The original lasted about 130K with most of that being highway. Got to save up a few more nickels and get a spare.

Sounds like you are in denial to me. The stock lift pumps are a known weak link and there are a number of very good fixes available.

You'll never be ok just because someone else has not had a failure yet or because you have fewer miles than most that failed.

Get yours fixed with the in-tank Dodge setup or a Glacier Walbro setup.

Or you can wait till it quits out on the road and deal with all the associated problems too, like towing, getting parts, getting the work done in an emergency, or having to leave your truck stranded on the road. Just do it.

Question

If the new stock replacement lift pumps come with a pre filter strainer should 1 be added to the original pump before it fails? Any chance of it prolonging the inevitable?

Is this covered by the 100k mile warranty? I'm getting a little nervous that mine won't be...

Yes, it should be. The Dodge folks my go the other route and put the pump in the tank like the 04.5 and up have.
