Oil Pan!

Hey all, my 2006 5.9L Cummins has 60K on it. I was doing regular grease job to my universals when I noticed the oil pan has scale rust on it. So bad that if I touch it.. it's going to bust through. Will I be covered by dodge with 60K on my truck?

I think so. I can't remember the years your warranty is good for though. You can find that in your warranty book. It also depends on the trucks in service date.

Mine is going in to the shop to replace oil pan, quoted $1250.00 for oil pan and labor + new oil + tax = so who knows what the bill will be when I leave there.

The dealer quoted mine at $1600 so that looks like a good price.

My pan, bolts and gasket should be here today they cost $550. The local garage said that they will install for $600 so I am probably going to let them do it.

Just got truck back from shop and the oil pan was in worse shape than thought one rock to oil pan and it would have been all over. I left the shop $1747 poorer, $1155 for oil pan and labor he said it went went much better than he thought it would. I also had transmission cooler replaced had been leaking, serpentine belt replaced, and trans service and band adjustment, and the obvious oil change.
