When you guys change your oil, do you fill the new oil filter up with oil before screw it on.

almost forgot once but remembered after adding the 2nd gal. I pulled off the empty fleetguard filter from the 5.9, added as much oil as it would hold then re-installed it, then added gal #3 of M1 TDT

 

Yes fill the filter. Catches oil pressure quicker and it doesn't harm the turbo or the rest of the engine.

 

Yep, just like the FSM tells you to.

 

Its listed in the owners manual to fill the new oil filter before you install it on the engine. Also make sure you don't let any dirt or junk get in to the filter when filling it with oil or installing it on the engine.
