oil on air filter?

Have a oiled filter that came w/the truck, drops in the stock box. I have washed it w/soap and water, now what do I oil it with?

The filter kinda looks like honeycombed foam.

Don't mean to me a smart A????, but really, throw it away and get a paper or one of the "Non-Oiled' type filters. If you're driving around with the filter as is, be aware that you're probably not getting any filtration. This sounda like you have mabye a K&N which requires a special cleaner and oil. The Reoiling Kits for K&N are sold by any parts store that sells K&N. Lots of threads on these type filters not being good for diesels.

I do have a paper filter in there presently. I dont think its a k/n, I would imagine they would have their name on it somewhere.

With that being said, what do you guys think I should use?

Stick with paper until you decide if you are going to upgrade to an aftermarket intake or just stay stock- in which case paper is fine, and also economical.

I already have the filter, so if it offers some kind of benefit, I should use it right?

My question is what kind of oil are people using on their oil filters.

I would agree with everyone else....ditch that oiled filter... Genos garage sells stock replacement filter along with hi-flow dry filters...I would stick with the stock filter unless you have other engine mods,,,
