Noise

I asked about this problem that I am having before. I want to ask it again. I have this "clicking" noise from the rear of the motor. It get very noticable around 2000 rpm. I can hear it from the side or when the hood is up in the cab. You can not hear it from the front of the truck. It will do this when I am driving or when I am in my driveway. There is no oil or anything that would give me a clue that a gasket is going bad. Any thoughts on this would be very helpful.

Thanks

noise

I have the same noise in mine. It is a 2006 with 15K on it. the noise started after pulling my fifth wheel to TX last Nov. Dealer keeps telling me it is normal. I keep getting it documented. It really does not sound right to me.
Mine is accompanied buy a slightly rough ildle and a less than smooth exhaust tone. Power seems OK. My 01 idled much smoother.
One of the tech's said it was the dual mass flywheel. Not sure why it would all of the sudden start making noise.

IMO any engine is going to have different noises, clicks rattles weather you can hear them or not.. I wouldnt worry about it especially since it is a medium duty diesel motor.

You must have bought the plugs and cap from Autozone. They offer them to me every time I go in there.
